- Request that waste vents on the roof are not located on the front facing hip. Request that these are routed to a less visible hip side. Have this commented on the plans and make sure the site supervisor instructs the plumber to do so. In our case neither of the above was done so we have a waste vent visible to the street. Not a major issue, but one of those small asthetic items to watch for.

Insist on a stair case detail plan, they may charge you for it, but reject this and have them include it in your contract plans.
