Update after a couple of weeks being busy
Well it's been a while since our last update. Day to day life has got in the way of more regular updates but having some time on a Friday night I can play catchup on recent events.
Quick Summary
Quick Summary
- Slab down
- Error with the air conditioning slab - should have been at ground level but it was incorrectly formed to near 1m (similar to the main floor)
- Rawson confirmed it was a discrepancy on the concrete drawings (which we never saw as part of our approvals, will ask for this next time, if there is a next time) - my guess is the drafters and engineers had a late night. According to the concrete drawings both the water tank and air con slab should have been at 1m. Fortunately one of the concreaters had the foresight to drop the water tank slab to the ground.
- We now have to get the AC slab cut and reformed at the lower level
- Storm water connections completed
- Sewer connection completed
- Termite protection laid
- Windows delivered
- Frames delivered
During late Feb and early March there was a few weeks of rain which saw not much happening, things should start up next week (March 10th).
Here's a selection of photos
The concreaters decided it was so cold at 7am in early Feb that they needed a fire to keep warm.. HTFU I say.
This square section of the slab that's dropped below the patio slab and the main floor that was formed incorrectly.

Water tank slab, set at correct height which the AC slab should have been at.
The Ag line shown at the base of the slab has now been connected to the storm water drain

Old sewer connection and inspection point to the mains, roughly 2m long
